If you are reading this blurb\, you are probably curious about th e ancient world. This talk will take that curiosity further by offering a n accessible introduction to the wonder of Classical Studies. Designed es pecially for those new to the subject\, it will explore the history of th e discipline\, explain key terms and approaches\, and show how Classical Studies connects to wider ideas and debates. More importantly\, it will i ntroduce practical ways of approaching the subject and highlight basic sk ills to help you get the most from this exciting academic field. Even if you are already studying the subject\, you may discover fresh perspective s&mdash\;I certainly did while preparing this talk. Starting something ne w can feel daunting\, but this session aims to demystify Classical Studie s and give you the confidence to begin your own journey into the ancient world. \;

Ardle is an Associate Lecture in Classical Studie s. He currently teaches on three undergraduate modules - A111 Discovering the Arts and Humanities\, A229 Exploring the Classical World and A340 Ro man Empire &ndash\; and in the past has taught on other current and past modules in Classical Studies. He has given several presentations for the Arts &\; Humanities Society and recording of these can be found on the Society&rsquo\;s YouTube channel.
