The latest Annual Report was received by the OU’s Council in November and is now available to read here. The objective of the annual report is to highlight the Associations achievements and activities over the financial year, from 1 August 2021 until 31 July 2022.

2022 has been a triumphant year for the Students Association. Here are just a few notable achievements that we are proud to have accomplished.

Individual Representation – From September 2021 to July 2022, 95 students received support from the Individual Representation service which launched as a pilot in September last year.

Freshers  5988 students signed up to the 2021 Freshers mailing list, an increase of 239% compared to the Freshers 2020 mailing list.

Conference – 170 students joined us online for Conference in January. 86% of attendees felt the events met their expectations.

Volunteering – Over 100 students volunteered to join our team of micro volunteers this year and 63% of volunteering applications were from students who were new to volunteering.

Elections – A record breaking 74 students stood for a role in the Student Leadership and Board of Trustees elections in 2022, 44 more than in 2020. An increased voter turnout also saw 2,777 votes cast across the variety of roles available; compared to 2,234 in 2020.

As the financial year has drawn to a close, we look forward to developing and implementing our new 2023-2026 strategy. Read the full report to find out more about the work we have accomplished so far and find a summary of our plans for 2022-23.
