The OU hosts its online forums on its Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), accessed from your Student Home page on the OU website. The system provides students and staff with a virtual campus. 

There is a DSG members-only electronic forum available to any member via the OU VLE. As a member of the group, you will be given automatic access to this forum. 

Similar to other forums on websites, each VLE forum operates as a group mailbox dedicated to a particular topic. The forums provide a valuable resource for students, allowing them to exchange information and take part in group discussions. All of the forums are moderated. 

The OU Students Association runs a large number of forums using the University’s VLE. Some of these forums are purely social; some are course-related; some are related to disability or health issues. All of these forums are moderated by student volunteers. They are particularly valuable for students who are isolated by disability.
