The event will focus on exploring the Open SU's Trans Action Plan, highlighting how it sets out to improve trans inclusion across the OU. Core commitments of the plan include:
- Improving the consistent recording and use of students’ names and pronouns.
- Expanding staff training on trans inclusion and effective allyship.
- Publishing clearer guidance on support routes and safety for trans students.
- Equipping student leaders with resources to visibly champion trans inclusion.
Held as part of Pride Month, the session will encourage attendees to reflect on how they can support the plan’s implementation and reinforcing Open SU’s commitment to building a safer, more inclusive OU.
