Here are step-by-step instructions for you to add the OU Students Connect platform browser link to your mobile home screen as an icon, covering both Safari and Google Chrome.

For Safari Users (iPhone/iPad):
1. Open Safari
- Launch the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Navigate to the Chat Platform
- Enter the URL of the chat platform in the address bar and tap "Go."
3. Open the Share Menu
- Once the page has loaded, tap the Share icon. This icon looks like a square with an upward arrow and is located at the bottom of the screen (or at the top-right if you’re using an iPad).
4. Add to Home Screen
- Scroll down the list of options in the Share menu until you find Add to Home Screen. Tap on it.
5. Customise the Name (Optional)
- You can edit the name that will appear below the icon on your home screen. By default, it will use the website’s title, but you can change it to something like "OU Students Connect" for easier identification.
6. Add the Icon
- After customising the name, tap Add in the top-right corner.
7. Check Your Home Screen
- You should now see the chat platform icon on your home screen. Tapping this icon will open the chat platform in Safari, just like an app!
For Google Chrome Users (Android):
1. Open Google Chrome
- Launch the Google Chrome browser on your Android device.
2. Navigate to the Chat Platform
- Enter the URL of the chat platform in the address bar and press "Go."
3. Open the Menu
- Once the page has loaded, tap the Menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top right corner.
4. Add to Home Screen
- From the drop-down menu, select Add to Home screen.
5. Customise the Name (Optional)
- A pop-up will appear allowing you to customise the name of the icon. Change it to "OU Students Connect" or any name that you prefer.
6. Add the Icon
- Tap Add, and another prompt will appear confirming where the icon will be placed. You can drag it to your preferred spot or tap Add automatically to place it on your home screen.
7. Check Your Home Screen
- You should now see the chat platform icon on your home screen. Tapping this icon will open the chat platform in Chrome, just like an app!
