For another three consecutive years, your OU Students Association has achieved the Investors in Volunteering (IiV) accolade in recognition of their commitment to volunteering.

‘Volunteers are at the heart of what we do because our main objective is around representing students and creating a community for them’. - Chief Executive Officer

The award represents the UK quality standard for organisations who work with volunteers and aims to improve the quality of the volunteer experience across the sector, showcasing the commitment a charity has to its volunteers.

‘The best thing is knowing what difference you’ve made to other students. I get a lot of praise and it’s good to know that I’m appreciated.’ - Association volunteer

The week-long assessment took place in February and required input and collaboration from student volunteers and Association colleagues who shared their thoughts, feelings and processes with an IiV assessor. We want to thank every one of our hard-working volunteers who were involved in the process. We are constantly looking to grow and nourish the volunteer opportunities at the Association, and your input throughout this process will continue to develop that journey.

‘I feel part of the team, there’s no division between staff and volunteers, we’re all working together’. - Association volunteer
