Another successful Big Students Meet-Up took place on Friday, 14 August, with nearly 60 OU students in attendance.
The free event was held at the OU Walton Hall campus in Milton Keynes, and attendees got the chance to connect with fellow students, find out more about The Open University, explore the campus, and meet Open SU staff.
Three different tours were available for students to take part in:
- Biodiversity Campus Tour – This was led by the University’s Head Gardener, Dan, as he showed students around Walton Hall’s beautiful grounds.
- Exploring The Open University’s archives – Two members of the OU Archive Team shared their knowledge of almost 60 years of OU history, with items from the University’s archives on display.
- Tours of The Open University’s XR Studios – Students could discover the OU's state-of-the-art lab space dedicated to advanced media production and immersive technologies (including virtual production, 3D photogrammetry, and motion capture.
In addition, students discovered more about Open SU via our Student Voice and general information stand – and there was a pop-up shop with OU merchandise.
This was the second Big Student Meet-Up which is now a fixed event on the Open SU calendar. It was great once again to see so many students get together, with such enthusiasm about their OU future.
