The Hoot – our online student magazine – is about to undergo a bit of a change.

On Thursday, 11 June, The Hoot will officially unveil a new logo and a redesigned website.

For seven years, The Hoot has been a space for you – OU students – to create content and express yourselves. The Hoot is yours, and we want it to grow with you, so we’ve spoken to students about how it can better reflect how you want to use it today. From helping to choose a new logo to providing input on how to make the Hoot site easier to navigate, students have played a key role during the planning process.

What’s changing on The Hoot

We’re making The Hoot a clearer, more user-friendly space, with a refreshed look and more flexibility for you to submit content.

Articles will be divided into categories, making it easier for you to find content you’re interested in.

We’re also due to launch a monthly Hoot Newsletter, featuring a snapshot of the latest articles on the site. More will be revealed on Thursday (11 June).

What’s not changing

The Hoot will still be the place for you to create articles and share stories – a space to express your unique voice and experience.

With this brand refresh, we want to further help you feel part of the wonderful OU student community.
