National Student Pride

National Student Pride opens doors to LGBTQIA+ young people – we are a not-for-profit organisation run by a committee of student volunteers and supported by a team of graduate volunteers, and an experienced advisory board who help to strategically steer the organisation. Through this, National Student Pride helps young people to develop their skills and kick-start their careers with the UK’s largest LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Careers Fair.

Mental health and abuse support (particularly for LGBTQIA+ students)

In an emergency, call 999. If you need urgent mental health support, contact NHS 111 or your local mental health crisis team.

Samaritans

Samaritans provides free, confidential emotional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for anyone who is struggling or in crisis. Samaritans is committed to providing an inclusive, non-judgemental service that is welcoming to LGBTQ+ people, and volunteers are trained to support callers (116 123) with empathy and without discrimination.

Switchboard LGBT+

Switchboard is a national LGBTQ+ support service offering a safe, confidential space for anyone who needs information, practical advice or emotional support. Support is available via telephone (0300 330 0630), instant message and email, with trained volunteers able to help with topics including coming out, gender identity, sexuality, relationships, mental health and signposting to other services.

MindOut

MindOut is a mental health charity run by and for LGBTQ+ people. The website offers online support, counselling, advocacy, peer support and a range of mental health resources designed specifically for LGBTQ+ communities.

Galop

Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, providing confidential support for LGBT+ people experiencing domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, so-called conversion practices, and other forms of abuse. It offers a national helpline, advocacy services, emotional support and practical advice, all delivered by LGBT+ staff for LGBT+ people.

MindLine Trans+

MindLine Trans+ is a free, confidential emotional support helpline for transgender, non-binary, genderfluid and gender-diverse people, as well as their families, friends and carers. Staffed by trained volunteers with lived trans or non-binary experience (alongside trans allies), it provides a safe, anonymous space to talk and offers signposting to further support services.
