In various locations across the UK, student volunteers are running local litter picks and would love you to join them! This is a chance to meet other students while helping to tidy up your community.

Entering campus by car
It will be easiest to park in the East Parking so you can have a short walk to the Library but all parking on campus is free so you can find a space and follow the signs to the Library.
Getting around campus
When you arrive, this campus map is available for you to get around campus. When you park, follow signs to the Library.
Bus
Bus services run frequently to and from the University to areas in Milton Keynes and the train station. Buses from the Railway Station to Walton Hall at The Open University take around 40 minutes. For more information and links to plan your journey, visit the OU’s travel advice page.

General advice for litter pickers:
Please avoid:
- Sharp objects (e.g. broken glass)
- Clinical waste (e.g. syringes)
- Hazardous areas (e.g. fast running rivers)
- Lone working
- Heavy lifting
Please ensure that you:
- Wear gloves
- Cover any cuts
- Keep hands away from your eyes and mouth
- Wash hands straight away after litter-picking
- Wear sturdy, appropriate footwear and waterproofs if needed
- Recycle any plastic, glass and aluminium

What will I need?
Please bring a pair of gardening gloves to protect your hands (thick gardening gloves are best). The organiser may have spare litter pickers you can use but this is not guaranteed. The organiser will have bin bags.
