The event will begin at 10:00am. Please arrive from 9:50am and meet us outside the main entrance to the Open University Library (Betty Boothroyd Building). A campus map is attached to help you find your way.
Travel information
By car
After passing through the security barriers, please turn immediately left and park behind the Library building in the Library Parking area.
By train
The Open University is approximately four miles from Milton Keynes Central station, which is served by frequent intercity rail services. There is also a local rail service between Bedford and Bletchley, with Bletchley station located approximately four miles from the campus.
By bus
Arriva bus services 8, 8A and Loop provide connections between the University, Milton Keynes and the train station at selected times throughout the day.

Accommodation
Some of you have booked accommodation at Kents Hill Park Hotel. The hotel is a short drive or approximately a 10 minute walk from the campus.

This event is for Black and Black mixed heritage OU students who would like to connect across faculties, hear from inspiring speakers, and take part in a guided campus tour. It is an opportunity to come together, build meaningful connections, and share the experience.
We recognise that events designed for specific student communities can sometimes raise questions. This initiative forms part of the University’s ongoing work to achieve more equitable outcomes for all students. This initiative supports more equitable outcomes, responding to evidence that Black students report lower sense of belonging. It provides a supportive space to build connection, alongside wider inclusive opportunities for all students, ensuring underrepresented voices are better supported, valued, and heard fully.
