Overview

The Vice President of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (V P E D I), in collaboration with the Associations’ E D I Support Groups, invites you to their E D I Summer Jamboree & Celebration!’

Find more information and links to events on the event's forum page here

The purpose of this event is to celebrate:

  • Our collective E D I achievements (and wins) for students, across the O U and Association; over the last 2+ years
  • Increases in diversity, engagement, and representation across the Support Groups and (wider) student body
  • Empower and amplify the VOICEs (Values, Opinions, Inclusion, Choices and Equity) of underrepresented cohorts, here at the O U
  • Another ‘End of Study Year’ for many students and, our collective accomplishments - whatever these may look like for us, individually and/or collectively
  • (and) have a bit of a ‘knees up’, to say farewell to the outgoing V P E D  I, welcome the incoming V P E D I & raise a glass to (former V P E D  I, D S G Champion & Association legend) Cherry Day!

Simply because ‘E D I is everyone’s business’ (O U Students), and that includes our (collective) achievements and successes!

The event will be arranged across 4 informal drop-ins on Microsoft Teams and will run from 15:30 PM to 21:30 PM (B S T), on Friday the 29th of July 2022!

Please note, before you choose to join this event:

As I am working directly with our main E D I Support Groups, matters of accessibility and inclusion are being considered at all times. However, it would be impossible to anticipate every need or requirement, across a diverse group (of individuals); therefore, if anyone requires Tech Support or another adjustment, to join in on the day, please email me (Patrice Belton – V P E D I), by Wednesday 27th July; to enable me to help or refer you to Staff who may be able to help. The event is specifically for OU Students, so you will need your Studenthome login details (OUCU) to attend. It will also be an open and inclusive celebration and exchange, so please be mindful of others and the Associations’ events code of conduct and 'culture and value policies'
