In line with new legislation, which requires Student Unions and Association’s to do what they can to protect free speech at their events and in their spaces, the Students Association’s Board of Trustees have approved an interim Freedom of Speech Code of Practice.
We expect to update this document in the coming months in line with further guidance from the Office for Students (OfS), and the launch of the OfS Freedom of Speech Complaints Scheme which is expected in August 2024.
