We're looking for the next team of OU student leaders... and nominations are officially open to put yourself up for a role!
Your voice matters
Representation is at the heart of everything we do, and as a student leader, your voice and opinions have the power to influence real change.
About the Student Leadership Team (SLT):
If you’re elected, you’ll join the SLT or Board of Trustees and work together to improve the experience of Open University students.
It’s a 2-year term for SLT members, and a 1-year term for Student Trustees, and there’s a variety of roles available, all playing a key part in representing OU students – from attending meetings with university staff, to improving student experience, and building your community.
Keep an eye out for an email from Civica, an independent elections agency managing our elections process, for a link to nominate yourself.
Nominations close: Tuesday, 24 March at midday

You might notice some changes to the roles available in the Student Leadership Team (SLT), this is a result of recommendations our Board of Trustees received from an external review of our governance structures and processes. So that we can pilot the recommended changes in the 2026-28 SLT term, our Board of Trustees and SLT approved some changes to our Bye-Laws.
The main changes are to the Vice President roles, and the decision to remove the Open and Access Representative. Read the full report here, and find more information here.
