As you may know, the National Student Survey is currently open, where we want our students to provide us with anonymous views about their student experience. But you may be wondering what we do with this feedback – has it made any difference to Open SU? Well, the answer to that is a resounding 'yes'.
Here is how your NSS feedback has influenced us at Open SU:
- NSS feedback played an important part in developing our Student Leadership Team four priority areas. They were part of the evidence collected to inform the viewpoints.
- It helped us think about our visibility – we had a very high number of people who didn't knowing about our work. We have therefore made changes that have helped our overall awareness:
- We changed the name of our Central Executive Committee to the Student Leadership Team
- Our Central Committee Reps are now known as Student Reps
- There are more articles on this website about the work of Open SU, especially student leaders.
- The feedback fed into the decision to change our name to Open SU.
- We have used the data to brief Student Reps on key topics and discussion points, ensuring they are prepared for their meetings to advocate on behalf of OU students.
- The feedback has also been used as part of meetings with the OU to establish areas for improvement going forward.
So if you've been invited to take part in the National Student Survey, please do so – it really does make a difference.
