We’ve been made aware of a WhatsApp group where students are being asked to share private information, including photos of their passports. Unfortunately, the names of Open SU staff have been used in the group to make it seem legitimate.
To be clear, no Open SU staff are involved with this group. Open SU would never ask you to share passport details or any other private information in order to join a student community space.
We strongly advise you to be careful with your personal information, and to think twice before joining any Whatsapp groups or sharing anything.
This matter will be investigated further. If you come across anything like this, please report it to us as soon as possible.
