Better TogetHER

This is a free, online program created to educate, support and empower individuals in their gender allyship practices. By increasing awareness and providing actionable steps, Better TogetHER engages everyone in the mission for gender equality.

Gender diversity for schools and educators

Run by Gendered Intelligence, this course is designed for professionals working in education or youth services. At £35 per person, it supports you to deliver high-quality RSE (relationships and sex education) on gender diversity in a way that aligns with the current RSHE guidance (relationships, sex and health education) and the Equality Act 2010. It will also give you the confidence to better support trans young people at your school, improving their life chances and educational attainment.

UN Women Training Centre

Find a variety of self-paced online courses that allow learners to access content at their own pace. This is a catalogue of available courses, covering a variety of topics ranging from things like women’s economic empowerment, to gender equality and migration.
 

Race

OpenLearn: Race and Youth Policy

This course looks at the meaning of social policy, how it works as a mechanism of persuading people to behave in specific ways, its role in shaping our understandings of young people, and the role practitioners can play in mediating and influencing policy. In particular, it examines the racialisation and criminalisation of youth social policy as it pertains to Black and Muslim Asian British youth.

OpenLearn: Advancing Black leadership

Advancing Black leadership explores techniques that members of Black and Minority Ethnic communities can use to influence people and organisations with power. Advancing Black leadership builds on and consolidates learning from the Introducing Black leadership course.

OpenLearn: Diversity and inclusion in the workplace

This free course introduces you to the benefits and complexities of developing and supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce. It explores the positive impact of diversity on staff wellbeing and innovation within an organisation, enhancing a company’s competitive advantage and aligning with its social responsibilities.

OpenLearn: Introducing Union Black

Introducing Union Black aims to build your confidence as a change agent for equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. Engaging in this course will contribute to building skills, including empathy, understanding anti-racism, understanding different cultures, diversity, inclusion and allyship.

LGBTQIA+

LGBTQ+ Inclusion course

This free online course from We Create Space is designed to help you deepen your knowledge and understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities, experiences and allyship.

Trans in the City E-Learning

This comprehensive, e-learning course, developed by Trans in the City, Cool2BTrans and Global Butterflies, includes the information you need to understand the fundamentals of trans awareness, explained by trans and non-binary role models and allies.
 

Disability 

OpenLearn: Exploring learning disabilities: supporting belonging

In this free course, you will hear from many different people about what it is like to have the label ‘learning disability’, and how it feels to support someone with a learning disability – as a family member, a friend, an advocate or a paid worker.

OpenLearn: Assistive technologies and online learning

This free course explores some of the technology that disabled students use when accessing computers. It takes a look at the tools and techniques that make it possible for disabled students to engage with online learning.
