Meeting guidance

Advice for specific meetings can be found here.

Board of Trustee Meetings

The Board of Trustee meeting in May 2022 was a face-to-face meeting, with some Trustees and staff joining remotely. It will be up to the next Board to decide on arrangements for their meetings going forward.

CEC Meetings

The July 2022 meeting will be held face-to-face, with an option for members to join remotely. The Committee will then discuss and agree their meeting schedule going forward, which will need to be approved by the Board of Trustees.

Residential Schools

These are organised by the University, with the Association in attendance. For the 2021/22 academic year, all Residential Schools will remain online. Going forward, we have not yet been advised by the University whether or not it intends to revert to in-person Residential Schools, or whether some (or all) will remain online.

Senate Reference Group

Following the OU’s decision to make the June 2022 Senate a face-to-face meeting, we facilitated a face-to-face Senate Reference Group meeting, with the opportunity for members to join remotely, if preferred.

The planning of future meetings will be informed by the effectiveness (or otherwise) of the June 2022 meeting.

Societies Committee Meetings

The June/July Societies Committee meeting is also the Annual General Meeting (AGM). As long as there are no restrictions in place at the time, this meeting will take place on the University campus in Milton Keynes (details will be provided nearer the time), with the option for members to join online (a hybrid meeting).

Going forward, it is envisaged that the AGM will always be conducted as a hybrid meeting. The other two meetings that take place during the year will be fully online (unless the meeting is scheduled around another activity, therefore making sense for the meeting to be held face-to-face/hybrid).

Training

  • Graduations volunteers – This will continue to be online and will be reviewed ahead of the 2022/23 season.
  • Elected Representatives handover and induction – Some induction sessions are being arranged online. Face-to-face elements will also take place at the July CEC, and a face-to-face weekend is being considered for September.
