Terms and Conditions Earth Day Poster Competition: alternatives to plastic

This promotion offers entrants the chance to win a £50 Ethical Superstore voucher. The Promoter is the Open University Students Association.

Open University student promotion only. Open to current students who can provide a valid, current personal identifier number for The Open University, or who are extended members of the Students Association or who are Honorary Life Members. This promotion is not available to students who are employees of the Open University and its subsidiaries including Associate Lecturers. Employees of the OU Students Association, their families and agents are excluded from winning this prize.

Only one entry per student.

All entries must be the entrant’s own original work. Entries must not already be published pieces of work.

Opens at 10am (BST) on Monday 22 April 2024 and closes at 11pm (BST) on Friday 3 May 2024.

In order to take part in this free competition entitled 'Earth Day poster competition: alternatives to plastic', entrants must submit a poster on the theme of 'alternatives to plastic' not exceeding 250 words, to oustudents-insights@open.ac.uk. Entries can be digitally or hand-made and entrants can submit photographs, screenshots or scanned images of the poster. Entries must be submitted either in the text of the email or attached to the email as a Microsoft Word Document, PDF, or image file.

The promotion ends on 03/05/2024 and the winner will be chosen by two OU Students Association Environment and Sustainability Group members. Entries will be anonymised before being sent to the judges. Judging will commence in the week commencing 6 May 2024 and winners will be informed by email and announced on the OU Students Association website and social media channels by 31 May 2024.

There will be four winners of the competition who will win a £50 Ethical Superstore voucher. The winners will be notified by 31/05/2024 via email. Following the offer, the winners will need to provide their OU Personal Identifier in order to verify their OU student status. After verification is complete, the Promoter will order the prize to be sent to the winners chosen email address/delivery address.

Please note that if the winner’s delivery address is outside of the UK, the winner may need to pay customs duties, import tax and/or handling fees to receive the item. Any fee(s) will vary between countries. By entering this competition, the winner agrees to pay the fee(s) if applicable.

The Promoter reserves the right to award a different prize of similar value, for example if the advertised prize is no longer available to purchase or if it is not deliverable to the winner’s delivery address. No cash alternative shall be offered.

The Promoter reserves the right to publish any entries on its social media, website (oustudents.com) and online magazine (thehootstudents.com).

The Promoter reserves the right to reject those entries which it considers, in its absolute discretion, do not comply with these T&C’s or are fraudulent.

By submitting an entry, entrants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these T&C’s.

Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into for non-winning entries.

The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with earthday.org.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted, lost, damaged, delayed or fail to reach it during the term of the Promotion. The Promoter accepts no liability for entrants’ failure to gain access to this Promotion due to technical difficulties.

The winner's name and county will be made available upon request by sending an email to oustudents-insights@open.ac.uk.

The Promoter reserves the right to extend or withdraw the promotion at any time due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any interruption to the promotion due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary these terms and conditions, at any time.

Any personal data collected for the purposes of this promotion only and will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Promoter’s privacy policy, which is available at https://www.oustudents.com/privacy-policy.

This promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
