Terms and Conditions for the online Veganuary Bake Off for Welcome Week 2026B

This promotion offers entrants the chance to win an Open SU stationery bundle for the winner of the online Veganuary Bake Off. The entrant must bake something vegan as part of Veganuary at the OU and send a photo to oustudents-projects@open.ac.uk. The winner will be chosen by the Environment and Sustainability Working Group. The competition opens when Welcome Week starts on Saturday 24 January and closes on Sunday 1 February 11:59pm (GMT). The Promoter is the Open University Student Union.

Open University student promotion only. Open to current students who can provide a valid, current personal identifier number for The Open University, or who are extended members of Open SU or who are Honorary Life Members. This promotion is not available to students who are employees of the Open University and its subsidiaries including Associate Lecturers. Employees of Open SU, their families and agents are excluded from winning this prize.

Only one entry per person.

Opens at 12am (GMT) on Saturday 24 January 2026 and closes at 11:59pm (GMT) on Sunday 1 February 2026. 

In order to take part in this free competition, entrants must email a photo of their bake to oustudents-projects@open.ac.uk between 12am (GMT) on Saturday 24 January 2026 and closes at 11:59pm (GMT) on Sunday 1 February 2026. The winner will be chosen by the Environment and Sustainability Society at their meeting on Wednesday 18 February and their decision is final. The winner will be informed after this meeting and will need to email oustudents-projects@open.ac.uk with their address and PI number to organise their prize by 27 February 2026. 

The winner of the bake off will win an Open SU stationery bundle. Following the offer, the winner will need to provide their OU Personal Identifier in order to verify their OU student status. After verification is complete, the Promoter will order the prize to be sent to the winner’s chosen delivery address.

Please note that if the winner’s delivery address is outside of the UK, the winner may need to pay customs duties, import tax and/or handling fees to receive the item. Any fee(s) will vary between countries. By entering this competition, the winner agrees to pay the fee(s) if applicable.

The Promoter reserves the right to award a different prize of similar value, for example, if the advertised prize is no longer available to purchase. No cash alternative shall be offered.

The Promoter reserves the right to reject those entries which it considers, in its absolute discretion, do not comply with these T&C’s or are fraudulent.

By submitting an entry, entrants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these T&C’s.

The promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into for non-winning entries.

The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with the Great British Bake Off or Veganuary.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted, lost, damaged, delayed or fail to reach it during the term of the Promotion. The Promoter accepts no liability for entrants’ failure to gain access to this Promotion due to technical difficulties.

The winner's name and county will be made available upon request by sending an email to oustudents-projects@open.ac.uk.

The Promoter reserves the right to extend or withdraw the promotion at any time due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any interruption to the promotion due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary these terms and conditions at any time.

Any personal data collected for the purposes of this promotion only and will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Promoter’s privacy policy, which is available at https://www.oustudents.com/privacy-policy.

This promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
