Events Officer
The Events officer focuses on designing and delivering a programme of events that will help support the group and develop its community.

You must be a member of the Open Students Union and the Disabled Students Group to apply (all registered Open Univesity Students are automatically members of the Open Students Union according to our Articles of Association). If you are not already a member of the Disabled Students Group and are successful in being appointed to the Committee, you will automatically be added to the Group.
Please be aware, that as a volunteer, you will be expected to follow our

Volunteer Agreement. We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and you are expected to reflect this in your volunteer role.
You will need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for all roles before starting your term.
Applications close at 23:59 on Sunday, 27 July 2025, and applications are considered shortly afterwards. We aim to inform all applicants of the outcome before 1 August 2025.
If successful, you will start the role from 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2026.

Hours per week
Up to 5 hours per week (up to 10 hours in busier periods) for a 24-month period
Training available
Four online induction/training sessions plus Event/Meet-up Host training.
Mandatory e-learning modules, online self-study core training for volunteers.
Optional personal development training.
Location
This role is mainly online with occasional face-to-face events/activities with prior arrangement.
