This application is for the roles of Communications Officer and Events Officer of the OU Pride Group Committee.
Communications Officer
The Communications Officer focuses on communicating with members of the Group on the activities and plans of the Committee.
Events Officer
The Events officer focuses on designing and delivering a programme of events that will help support the group and develop its community.
Secretary
The Secretary focuses on supporting the Committee, organising their meetings and following up on actions.

You must be a member of the Open Students Union and OU Pride to apply (all registered OU students are automatically members of the Open SU according to our Articles of Association). If you are not already a member of OU Pride and are successful in being appointed to the Committee, you will automatically be added to the Group.

Applications close at 23:59 on Sunday, 27 July 2025, and applications are considered shortly afterwards. We aim to inform all applicants of the outcome after 1 August 2025.
If successful, you will start the role after 1 August 2025 and the role will end 31 December 2026.

Hours per week
Up to 5 hours per week (up to 10 hours in busier periods) for a 24-month period
Training available
Mixture of online induction sessions delivered via Teams as well as online self-study modules to complete. Covering Welcome sessions, Event and Meet-up Hosting, Accessibility, Safeguarding and GDPR.
Location
This role is mainly online with occasional face-to-face events/activities with prior arrangement.
