    Appointments Committee Representative Position

The Appointments Committee plays a part in scrutinising the decisions of the Student Voice team, whilst making sure the principles and processes are followed. They give feedback into the development of role descriptions for student voice relate positions. They also ensure that students who are interested in joining the teams are warmly supported and welcomed. This is a great position that helps make sure the SU is not biased and appoints the correct people, my issue isn't with the position but with the point that if a Student Representative wishes to join they must have held the position for a year first, this would be fine if it was the same for SLT and Trustees but they can be newly elected into the positions and then be appointed straight away. I feel that there is no difference between the positions other than two are voted for. If a Rep wants to apply in their first year they should be able to apply just like SLT and Trustees. I have included links to the roll, and to the terms of reference. Thank you for reading. https://www.oustudents.com/your-voice/student-voice/appointments-committee/ https://www.oustudents.com/assets/site_resources/Appointments%20Commitee%20Terms%20of%20Reference%20-%20November%202025.pdf
