What is the AMS?
Every student at The Open University is automatically a member of the Open SU, and the Annual Membership Survey (AMS) is sent to all current members once a year to see how we can provide you with even stronger support through your studies.
We strive to represent the best interests of OU Students and ensure the services we offer align with the student experience. This is where the AMS comes in. We ask for your feedback on key areas of our services to help us inform decision-making at Open SU.
How does your response support the student experience?
A fundamental way that the AMS helps support the student experience is helping us to track awareness of our Union and the services we offer amongst OU students. Responses we’ve had in previous years have helped us to adjust our strategy to increase awareness of Open SU, and to increase our ability to support students who aren’t aware of the crucial services we offer, resulting in a 4% increase in awareness from 2023 to 2024 (79% awareness overall!).
When will the next Annual Membership Survey be?
The next Annual Membership Survey will be held in 2026, following a year off in 2025.
