If you are reading this blurb, you are probably curious about the ancient world. This talk will take that curiosity further by offering an accessible introduction to the wonder of Classical Studies. Designed especially for those new to the subject, it will explore the history of the discipline, explain key terms and approaches, and show how Classical Studies connects to wider ideas and debates. More importantly, it will introduce practical ways of approaching the subject and highlight basic skills to help you get the most from this exciting academic field. Even if you are already studying the subject, you may discover fresh perspectives—I certainly did while preparing this talk. Starting something new can feel daunting, but this session aims to demystify Classical Studies and give you the confidence to begin your own journey into the ancient world.
