Lucy Richardson

Faculty Association Representative, Open and Access

What this role involves:

Being part of the overall work of the Central Executive Committee. Staying in tune with the needs and problems of Open and Access students. Building and maintaining student representation with the Open and Access program and Association. Helping the facilitation and growth of student communities in the Open and Access Program.

What you've studied and are studying at the OU:

I started studying a history degree but have since switched to the Open Pathway.

Why you decided to volunteer (and any previous volunteering experience with the Association):

I started studying to be part of the student community and make new friends after a long illness. Volunteering is a great way of achieving that.

Summary of what you want to do in your role during the August 2020 – July 2022 term:

I hope to improve the sense of community in Wales and ensure the Association has strong links to the Wales office.

Any other interests you'd like to share:

I am a member of the Open University Science Fiction and Fantasy Club. I also enjoy a good book and curling up with my cat.
