In the autumn of 2021, the University and College Union (UCU) balloted its members on proposed strike action and action short of a strike (ASOS). This led to some of its members striking for 3 days in December 2021, and a ASOS commencing to last until the 3rd May 2022. Last week, UCU announced another round of strike action to occur during February and March 2022.

The announced dates are as follows:

  • Monday 14th February – Friday 18th February
  • Monday 21st February – Tuesday 22nd February
  • Monday 28th February – Wednesday 2nd March

We fully understand that students may be disappointed about the potential for further disruption to their studies, though we also recognise that staff satisfaction remains imperative to the student experience. Therefore, we repeat our call for a timely and satisfactory resolution to this long-standing, national dispute and urge all parties to work together as a priority.

As always, we will continue to work closely, where appropriate, with the University and UCU to minimise the impact felt by students. Additionally, we will continue to update the FAQ page with more information as it becomes available.
